Woodland Creation Grant – £6,800 per hectare
The ‘Woodland Creation Grant’ (part of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme) is for a two year capital works programme to plant and protect young trees. You can apply for this grant all year round. It is a capital grant, where applicants can apply for one-off payments for the trees which will be planted and any associated protection items and support towards infrastructure to help the establishment of new woodland.
If an application is successful, you have two years to purchase and plant/install these capital items, and a further 3 months to submit their payment claim. (This is a complicated application process – the team at DR are here to help.). READ MORE
A boost for Creative Technology in the South West
The South West Creative Technology Network (SWCTN) is a £6.5 million project to expand the use of creative technologies across the south west of England. The network is offering three, one-year funded programmes around the themes of: Immersion, Automation and Data.
The prototype commissioning brief is an open call inviting teams to apply for funding to develop new products and services with commercial potential addressing industrial, societal, cultural and environmental challenges. Prototype teams are encouraged to be diverse within their teams and in their collaborations and to prioritise ethical innovations and sustainability. £240k will be invested into each round of the prototype commissions throughout the programme. £5000 Young Innovators Award
Make your business into a reality! Aged between 18 and 30 years old and looking for business support to make your business idea a reality? Innovate UK is working in partnership with The Prince’s Trust to find young people from across the UK with great business ideas. Their goal is to find a new group of young innovators that, with their help, can turn their great ideas into successful businesses.
The national Young Innovators Awards will go to 18–30 year olds with a creative and ground-breaking business idea. The Award includes a £5,000 grant, business support and a living allowance. READ MORE
Dairy Response Fund
Since the start of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the dairy industry has faced challenges of excess milk, falling prices, and reduced demand from the hospitality sector. Defra has set up the ‘Dairy Response Fund’ to help those dairy farmers most in need in England overcome the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
